Fukushima photos in New Zealand photo festival

I am happy and honoured to have a series of photos included in the 2019 Auckland Festival of Photography. The series of 25 images looks at the efforts of local residents to bring a bit of cheer to a Fukushima town that was evacuated after the 2011 nuclear disaster. More details here

Good to see such a positive response from citizens whose lives have been hugely affected.
What’s the left hand character under the white face mean, Rob?
The one next to the one which means China, or middle.
I really like the colour and lines on this photo.

仲 refers to a middleman, or in this case a "nakodo" who acts as an intermediary between two families when a marriage is being "arranged". Some of the dolls made by residents were supposed to represent actual people, others to represent actual events. When I visited they were making a whole bunch of dolls with the intention of making a reenactment of a wedding. They'd already completed the bride and groom and some of the guests!
